DESCRIPTION:November 20\, 2026 | 9:00 a.m. – 3:30 pNovember 23\, 2026 |
 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.\nDoctoral studies in Germany are characterized by
distinctive features that are unique in an international context. One exam
ple is the specific relationship between advisors and doctoral candidates\
, which is traditionally reflected in the terms “Doktorvater” and “D
 oktormutter.”The doctoral period is also\, for a variety of reasons\, a
special phase that can present doctoral candidates with certain challenges
\, regardless of their background. International doctoral candidates are o
ften confronted with additional questions arising from differing cultural
and institutional contexts. This workshop aims\, on the one hand\, to provi
