KAAD has been cooperating with Asia in its diversity and in its strong social, economic and political change for decades. In East Asia, we offer scholarships to students and researchers of the People’s Republic of China. The KAAD partner committees in Indonesia, the Philippines and Vietnam developed over decades into permanent cooperation partners. Younger partner committees have been established in Bangladesh and Burma. They all forward the collected applications from their home countries to us after a first positive evaluation of the initial request below. The focus countries of our work in Asia are therefore currently the following: Bangladesh, Indonesia, Myanmar, Philippines, Vietnam and the People’s Republic of China.

Together with our partner committees and alumni associations we are connected beyond national borders. Our former scholarship holders inspire local Catholic, Christian and interreligious life with their international experience and strive to contribute to social well-being and a sustainable, peaceful future in this globalized world.
