Promotion of Peace and the Common Good

The promotion of peace and the common good is a basic concern of the support and alumni work of KAAD. By supporting change agents, KAAD promotes and strengthens civil society structures, human rights, good governance and leadership, reconciliation processes and finally democracies.

• The topic of promoting peace and the common good is a focus of both KAAD's funding work and its alumni work worldwide, and is reflected in interdisciplinary and transregional expert groups (such as the Peace and Justice Expert Group);
• is reflected in the study subjects and research projects of KAAD scholarship holders, whether in Germany or in in-country and third-country studies (e.g. in peace and conflict research);
• shapes KAAD's educational work, the publications of its networks as well as conferences at home and abroad.
