Prevention of Sexualized Violence

The prevention of sexualized violence against minors and vulnerable adults is a central concern for KAAD and its stakeholders. Sexual abuse is a criminal offense. KAAD is committed to doing everything in its power to prevent these crimes.

The KAAD has introduced its 'Institutional Protection Concept for the Prevention of Sexualized Violence against Minors and Vulnerable Adults', which was developed on the basis of the 'Framework Regulation – Prevention of Sexualized Violence against Minors and Vulnerable Adults in the Area of the German Bishops' Conference' and defines comprehensive prevention. KAAD is fully committed to the preamble of this framework, "to offer all children and young people as well as vulnerable adults a safe learning and living environment in the spirit of the Gospel and on the basis of the Christian view of humanity". For this reason, the office of Prevention Officer and Ombudswoman was established and assigned to Martina May, Head of Administration at KAAD. She is available to deal with cases of suspicion and complaints. At the same time, she is also an independent contact person for complaints of any kind.
