Dr Marko Kuhn

* 1971; Ph.D. in Theology

Studied Catholic theology in Tübingen and Freiburg, specializing in the history of religion (new religious movements, African theology, Islam). Received his doctorate in 2007 with a dissertation on African Independent Churches (AICs). Conducted research for his dissertation in western Kenya and Nairobi. Scholarship recipient of the Friedrich Ebert Foundation and the Episcopal Scholarship Program – Cusanuswerk.

2003–2006: Training as a pastoral assistant in the Archdiocese of Freiburg.

1991–1997: Initially volunteer service, later project manager in the social-pastoral work of the Catholic Church in Western Kenya.

Since 2007, Head of the Africa Department at KAAD.
