KAAD Secretary General Dr Nora Kalbarczyk appointed to the University Council of the University of Bonn

As an advisory and supervisory body, the University Council supports the university management in key issues relating to academic profiling, structural development and internationalisation. Nora Kalbarczyk brings her extensive expertise from university policy practice, international scholarship work and academic cooperation with partners worldwide to this position.

In her first statement, she emphasised the importance of international perspectives for the future viability of German universities:
"The appointment to the University Council of the University of Bonn gives me the opportunity to contribute perspectives from international academic cooperation and education funding to the work of one of the most successful German universities. In a globally networked academic landscape, internationality means more than mobility - it requires institutional anchoring and structural participation. I am very much looking forward to this task!"

KAAD sees this appointment as a strong signal of the relevance of international experience in the strategic development of academic institutions.
