Indigenous knowledge regarding how to address the impacts of climate change, as well as the rights and political participation of indigenous communities, were the focus of the regional seminar.

KAAD Seminar in the Philippines

From 4 to 7 March 2024, 24 scholarship holders from 15 countries came together in Berlin to deal with the problems of migrant workers from Asia.

In cooperation with our KAAD alumni in Indonesia and the KMKI alumni organisation KONTAK, a seminar was organised in Bogor, Indonesia, from 20 to 22 October 2023. The seminar focused on the plans for the new capital of Indonesia, Ibu Kota Nusantara.

From 9 to 12 October, 25 KAAD scholarship holders met at the Alte Feuerwache Berlin to discuss "Current Challenges for Ethnic Minorities in Asia". Most of the participants came from Asia. However, the group was also enriched by scholarship holders from Africa, the Middle East, and Eastern Europe.

At the end of May, the head of KAAD's Asia Department, Dr Anselm Feldmann, travelled to Bangladesh and Thailand.

On the occasion of the World Mental Health Day on October, 10th 2020, the KAAD Alumni Association in Palestine and the KAAD office in Bonn organised a web seminar dealing with the current pandemic’s impact on mental health in Palestine.
