Focus Countries Latin America

The work of the KAAD focuses on selected countries with established church, academic and social relationships.

In these countries, the KAAD maintains intensive contacts with partner institutions, alumni networks and church institutions.

The focus on certain countries is due on the one hand to limited financial resources and on the other to the high level of commitment of local partners:

• the high level of commitment of local partners,
• the international orientation of cooperating universities,
• and existing relationships between local churches and German dioceses.

The KAAD's thematic focus also influences the selection of countries. Our thematic alumni groups - Public Health, Peace and Justice and Integral Ecology - are very well received in Latin America and lead to numerous applications.
